UPDATE: Fargo Police search for those involved in shooting

(Update 3:30 a.m.) — Fargo Police are investigating a shooting on the city’s southside Thursday night. It happened in the 2800 block of 32nd Avenue just before 7:30 as children were outside playing and others were walking or working in the area. Witnesses reported hearing about a half dozen shots and said the shooters fled before police arrived.  At this point, we are not aware of any injuries.  Police did recover several shell casings and at least one car and a garage at the Park Place Apartments were hit.

The area is near an elementary school, a public library and Essentia Health. The hospital went into lockdown as a precaution.  

(Update 9:15 p.m.) — The Fargo Police Department is sharing updates regarding the reports of gunshots near Essentia Health’s 32nd Avenue location in Fargo.

A representative with the Fargo Police Department says the incident is not an active shooter situation, as previously reported by WDAY Radio, but gunshots were heard in the 2800 block of 32nd Ave S. When authorities arrived, those involved fled the scene. 

FPD Authorities say nearby Essentia Health location locked down their facility out of an abundance of caution. The location is no longer under lockdown according to Essentia Health officials. At this time, authorities say an investigation is ongoing.

(UPDATE 8:40 p.m.) — At this time, Essentia Fargo is on lockdown but there is no active shooter is on campus. 

Fargo police are on scene and conducting an investigation at this time.

(Fargo, ND) — The Fargo Police Department is alerting the public of an active shooter situation outside of the 32nd Avenue South Essentia Health location. 

WDAY Radio has obtained a message which claims that an active shooter is located at the 32nd Avenue location on its north side.  A reporter is on scene and looking to learn more details.
