1,200 applications denied for MN cannabis license lottery

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The state of Minnesota narrows the number of applicants who will be part of next month’s cannabis license lottery.

The Office of Cannabis Management is sending letters to the nearly 1,200 social equity license applicants who will not be part of the lottery scheduled for December 2nd. Officials say they failed to properly complete applications, made multiple applications or tried to disguise investors who were backing their future businesses.

The remaining pool of more than 600 applicants will be eligible to receive one of the 280 licenses available.
