Cramer sentenced to probation for incident at Sanford Bismarck

(BISMARCK, ND) — The man serving a sentence for the death of a Mercer County deputy received additional punishment. Ian Cramer was sentenced to 28 years in prison for a high-speed chase that killed Deputy Paul Martin in December 2023.

Additional charges in Bismarck for theft, criminal mischief with damages, and reckless endangerment led to a total supervised probationary period of six years after his release in 2047. Cramer must also pay nearly $12,800 in restitution to the Sanford Medical Center.

Cramer is the son of North Dakota Senator Kevin Cramer.
