MCKENZIE COUNTY, ND — The Elkhorn Fire in McKenzie County has been 100% contained.
Fire officials confirmed the fire status yesterday after hearing from the U.S. Forest Service. The fire was first reported October 5th. Despite its new statusc, fire crews will continue to monitor the area for hot spots or flare-ups.
Forest Service officials say the success of the first responders can be attributed to great working relationships between the responding agencies.
