(GRAND FORKS, ND) – The State is set to continue calling its witnesses in a trial stemming from the 2007 murder of Minot State University student Anita Knutson.
On Friday, Nichole Rice’s ex-boyfriend, William May, told Ward County Assistant States Attorney Christopher Nelson that Rice stated that ‘she had killed Anita (Knutson).’ May said this comment came at a house party. Kristina (Imhoff) Holler, one of Rice’s friends whom she met at a party in 2008, told the state that Rice had gotten into an argument with Knutson and ‘had stabbed her.’
State prosecutors plan to call a total of five more witnesses Monday, before resting their case. Judge Richard Hagar told Rice’s attorneys to have ‘one or two’ witnesses available Monday afternoon.
