Bismarck Police officers and woman injured, suspect dead

(BISMARCK, ND) — A Bismarck Police officer has left the hospital, a woman suffered injuries and a 53-year-old woman is dead after intentionally striking the police officer.

Bismarck Police say it happened in the area of 1100 South 12th Street. Dispatchers received a call regarding the 53-year-old woman ‘acting intoxicated or high.’ Police arrived and attempted to stop the woman, who swerved at the officer, nearly striking him, before appearing to leave the parking – instead swerving at the officers again, striking a second officer. Officers fired at the vehicle and struck the 53-year-old to protect not only the veteran officer, but the multiple bystanders in the area.

The woman was pronounced dead.

Both officers are on administrative leave as the BCI investigates.
