Extra patrols in ND in March for Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over

NORTH DAKOTA – In 2024 in North Dakota, 36 percent of traffic deaths were alcohol-related according to the North Dakota Department of transportation.

Law enforcement will have extra patrols statewide in March to remove impaired drivers from the roads during the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign.

NDDOT says alcohol-related crashes in the state happen about every 13 hours. These crashes are 100 percent preventable by driving sober or getting a sober ride.

“Every trip home is an opportunity to make the right choice. Stay sober or let a sober friend or ride-hailing service take the wheel—because you’re responsible for more than just your own life when you’re on the road,” West Fargo Police Chief Pete Nielsen said.
