Senate confirms RFK Jr. as Secretary Of Health & Human Services

WASHINGTON – Robert F Kennedy Jr. has been confirmed as the head of the Department of Health and Human Services.

The Senate voted 52 to 48 to make Kennedy Jr. the Secretary of Health and Human Service. Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell, a polio survivor, was the only Republican to vote against Kennedy. He also voted against Pete Hegseth as Defense Secretary and Tulsi Gabbard as Director of National Intelligence.

Democrats pointed to past comments made by Kennedy Jr. related to his criticism of vaccines as their main reason to not support him.

“I believe that Mr. Kennedy is wholly unqualified for the position of Secretary of Health and Human Services, and that he is unprepared to lead. And I think that he cannot be trusted with the health and the well-being of Americans,” Democratic Minnesota Senator Tina Smith said.

“President Trump selected Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. to serve as HHS Secretary with a mandate to improve the health of our nation. Importantly, when we met with Secretary Kennedy he indicated that he understands the importance of working with stakeholders, from our farmers and ranchers to school nutritionists, and is focused on providing more transparency and choices for the American people. We congratulate Secretary Kennedy on his confirmation and look forward to working with the Trump administration to Make America Healthy Again,” Republican North Dakota Senator John Hoeven said.
