(CASS COUNTY, ND) – The North Dakota Highway Patrol says a 23-year-old woman has been arrested on multiple charges following a pursuit in Cass County.
It began in Barnes County, when dispatch reported a reckless driver call involving a Nissan passenger vehicle eastbound on I-94. The vehicle as reported to have been swerving all over the road, brake checking other drivers.
The Highway Patrol located the Nissan on I-94 near mile marker 320. Troopers attempted a traffic stop, and the driver fled eastbound. A trooper was then able to use a spike strip, which deflated three of the Nissan’s tires at mile marker 346, but the vehicle continued to flee into West Fargo via the Sheyenne Street exit.
The Highway Patrol ended the pursuit. Troopers later spotted the vehicle on I-94 eastbound near mile marker 347, and the driver, Makayla Ryan, was taken into custody and transported to jail.
The Worthington, Minn., woman was charged with felonies for reckless endangerment and fleeing a police officer, misdemeanor DUI-drugs and an infraction for possession of THC paraphernalia.
The Highway Patrol was assisted by the Cass County Sheriff’s Office and West Fargo Police Department. Nobody was injured.
