(CASS COUNTY, ND) – Authorities responded to rural Horace this morning on a report of household members feeling ill.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office, Sanford Ambulance and Southern Valley Fire and Rescue learned that one of the juveniles in the home was in and out of consciousness. Upon arrival, it was determined that both parents and two juveniles were exhibiting symptoms consistent with carbon monoxide (CO) exposure. All four individuals were transported to a local hospital for treatment. At this time of this report, the household members are recovering.
Crews identified high levels of CO near the fireplace.
