(ST. PAUL, MINN) – Minnesota’s exports continue to rise.
Governor Tim Walz and the Department of Employment and Economic Development announced earlier today that exports last quarter rose to $6.7 billion, a nearly 11 percent increase over the same time period last year. It also outpaced the national rate of three percent for the quarter and outperformed all but 12 other states.
The first nine months of the year have seen the state’s exports grow nearly 10 percent over the same time period last year, with U.S. growth at only three percent over the same period.
Walz says the surge is a reflection of the ‘significant business expansion’ that is creating job opportunities and is strengthening the state’s global trade networks.
