BISMARCK, N.D. – A federal judge criticizes President Joe Biden’s decision to commute the sentences of 14 North Dakota criminals.
All but two of those who received pardons were convicted drug traffickers. Hunter Hanson and David McMaster were convicted on charges linked to separate state fraud investigations.
Judge Daniel Hovland reached out to Department of Justice officials seeking an explanation for those commutations singling out the men for targeting innocent victims who had been “victimized by their deceitful scams.”
