(Undated) — Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is suing Maplewood-based 3M.
The suit accuses the company of deceptively marketing products containing PFAS. DuPont is also named as a defendant. PFAS is a toxic chemical. It has been used for decades as a nonstick, waterproof, and stain-resistant coating in products like 3M’s Scotchgard and DuPont’s Teflon. 3M officials are phasing out the use of PFAS products by the end of 2025 and haven’t used PFAS in Scotchgard for years.
