GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The Grand Forks County Commission votes 3-2 to approve a hiring freeze in 2025.
Commissioner Terry Bjerke says department heads will have to explain before the commission why an open position needs to be filled even if it’s within a department’s approved budget. He cautions the freeze does not mean the county will stop hiring.
