(WASHINGTON, DC) – South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem spent part of the week in Washington, DC, meeting with Senators ahead of her confirmation hearing in early 2025.
Noem is President-Elect Donald Trump’s pick to lead the Department of Homeland Security.
When asked by the press if she supports President-Elect Trump’s plans for mass deportation, Noem reaffirmed her support of the President-Elect.
“I’ll work with him to get his vision accomplished,” she told reporters.
Several Senators said Noem visited their offices.
Kansas Senator Roger Marshall, on X, said, “Gov. Kristi Noem is the right choice at the right time, and I have no doubt she will be a great leader at DHS. I look forward to working with her to Make America Safe Again and SECURE THE BORDER.”
Florida Senator Rick Scott said Noem “is the perfect person to enact Trump’s agenda and make the major reforms needed at DHS.”
Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson says he looks forward to working with Noem in the next four years.
“Governor Noem is dedicated to fulfilling the mission of securing the border and working with Tom Homan prioritizing the deportation of criminals and those who represent a threat to our country,” he said in a post on X. “She is committed to transparency and working with Congress as we fulfill our oversight responsibilities.”
