Fargo Police say several campsites have been removed for noncompliance

(FARGO, ND) – The Fargo Police Department says they’re working on the homeless camps in the city.

During a recent meeting of the Police Advisory and Oversight Board, Lieutenant Travis Moser told board members that, since the enactment of the camping resolution, several campsites have been removed for noncompliance.

“That was a collaborative effort between Harm Reduction, Police Department and Public Works working through that process of trying to get those people in compliance, and then notifying them, and then removal of the property,” he said.

Moser said that campsites still are set up – but the amount and locations are still being worked on, in the event a medical emergency and to check for compliance.

He said weekly meetings take place to determine next steps.
