NORTH DAKOTA – North Dakota’s snowmobile season begins Sunday.
The state’s Parks and Recreation Department says there has to be at least four inches of packed snow on the ground before the state’s 2,800 miles of snowmobile trails can open. In wetland areas, the ice must be thick enough to support the weight of the trail groomers.
Those wanting to ride on the trails this winter must have proper snowmobile registration and will need to carry proof of registration.
