BISMARCK, N.D. – North Dakota is on the hook for State Sen. Janne Myrdal’s legal fees.
Lawmakers voted 10 to four to reimburse the Edinburg Republican for the $40,000 she spent defending herself after a man sued her for blocking him on Facebook.
Mitchell Sanderson of Park River took the Republican to court claiming she violated his First Amendment rights. Lower courts tossed the case out and the state Supreme Court dismissed the lawsuit.
