MOORHEAD, Minn. – Moorhead Area Public Schools will begin looking at the next steps for the district following voters striking down the capital projects levy.
Superintendent Dr. Brandon Lunak says the district will look into new plans in January.
“We’ll try to do everything we can to keep the classroom environment intact. We’ll work the peripherals and look at what we can do before we have to start getting into personnel in terms of reductions,” Lunak said.
The levy would have raised $43 million in 10 years. The money would have gone to enhance curriculum, improve facilities, invest in technology and get new buses and vans.
The district approved a 10-year facilities plan that looks into alleviating crowding at Horizon Middle School and possibly moving it to grades six through eight.
