BISMARCK, ND — A former member of the North Dakota Young Republicans has pleaded guilty to participating in the U.S. Capitol riot.
Federal court documents in Washington, DC say former vice chair Damian Johnston has agreed to plead guilty to disorderly and disruptive conduct in the Capitol building, and demonstrating inside the building. Each count carries a maximum sentence of six months in prison. Two other charges were dropped in a plea agreement.
Johnston now lives in Wisconsin. He will be sentenced in February.
