Man arrested after threatening to shoot deputies in White Earth

WHITE EARTH, Minn. – A man has been arrested after a standoff in Becker County.

Deputies went to a home in White Earth around 7:30 Sunday night to find 50-year-old Robert Azure, Senior. He was wanted on warrants. Authorities say when they were given permission to search the home, a deputy saw Azure and told him he was under arrest. Azure locked himself in a bedroom and threatened to shoot deputies.

White Earth Tribal Police and Callaway Police officers responded. The sheriff’s office says Azure came out around 8:45.

Azure has been booked on warrants out of Mahnomen and Becker Counties for felony drug possession and burglary and misdemeanor warrants for violation of an order for protection and domestic assault.
