BISMARCK, ND — Community disaster leaders with the Red Cross say they are monitoring the wildfires in western North Dakota very closely.
The Minnesota and Dakotas Region of the American Red Cross is very concerned about the situation and is offering its assistance to those in need. Caseworkers are available to meet with individuals and families to help them navigate their next steps.
“Our local Red Cross is collaborating with community partners, including ND State DES/HHS, County Emergency Management, and Tribal Emergency Management, to stay informed and identify those in need,” Christopher Schenk, Community Disaster Program Manager said. Our priority is to connect with our affected neighbors, ensuring they have a safe place to stay and access to immediate essentials such as food, medical assistance, including replacing equipment and prescriptions, and emotional support.”
The Red Cross will also ensure people have a safe place to stay with essentials like food, medical help and emotional support.
