Hoeven: Army Awards More Than $19 Million For Construction At Cavalier Space Force Station

Senator John Hoeven, a member of the Senate Defense Appropriations Committee, today announced that the Department of the Army has awarded a contract for $19,129,000 to construct an emergency power plant fuel storage facility at the Cavalier Space Force Station. The project will construct a 360,000-gallon fuel storage farm to operate emergency power for Cavalier’s Perimeter Acquisition Radar Attack Characterization System (PARCS).

“North Dakota is playing an important role in our nation’s space operations,” said Hoeven. “This funding will help to construct an emergency power plant fuel storage farm, which is important in ensuring the operation of Cavalier’s PARCS, which detects missile threats and monitors satellites and other space objects.”
