Fargo Force nets more than $66,000 for former player, coach Chad Demers

(FARGO) — Supporters of Chad Demers were out in full force last Saturday at SCHEELS Arena in Fargo, as the Fargo Force raised funds for the former coach and player.

Demers was diagnosed with Grade 4 astrocytoma, also known as glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), a malignant primary brain tumor, in 2018.

In total, the Fargo Force raised $66,857 for Demers and his family – wife, Danika; and children, Beau, Thea and Ella.

Friday night’s events included a ceremonial puck drop by Demers’ son, Beau; special videos from former teammates and Force players played during the first intermission; a ‘Demmy Dangles Cancer’ bracelet giveaway; ‘Team Demers’ t-shirt sales; and special “CD” helmet stickers worn on the Force helmets.

Additionally, a Lend A Hand Up fundraiser has brought in more than $12,000. To donate to the Lend A Hand Up fundraiser, go to www.lendahandup.org and click on the ‘Support a Fundraiser’ button. The fundraiser is listed under ‘Individual/Family Fundraisers.’
