North Dakota State Sr. defensive tackle Eli Mostaert and RFr. CharMar Brown have each earned weekly Missouri Valley Football Conference weekly honors, the league office announced on Monday. Both played crucial roles in NDSU’s 42-10 conference play opening victory over then No. 15 Illinois State.
Mostaert tallied two of NDSU’s five sacks in the game. The Lakeville, Minn. native, helped the Bison defense limit the Redbirds to a net total of only eight yards rushing. Mostaert ended the game with three tackles.
Brown led the Bison in rushing for the third straight game after totaling 100 yards on 17 carries with one touchdown. The Omaha, Neb. native, averaged 5.9 yards per carry in the win over Illinois State. Brown is now the first Bison with back-to-back 100 yard rushing games since Kobe Johnson did so in 2022.
Mostaert, Brown, and the rest of the Bison will host No. 6 North Dakota on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the Fargodome.
