More bullpen woes cost Twins in extra innings loss to Guardians

The Minnesota Twins blew a two run extra innings lead in a 5-4 loss to the Cleveland Guardians in 10 innings on Wednesday evening.

Carlos Correa drove in all four Twins runs in the game. Bailey Ober gave up two runs over seven innings while striking out 12 batters in a no decision. Louie Varland and Jhoan Duran each threw a shutout inning in relief. Ronny Henriquez only recorded two outs in the 10th inning and gave up two earned runs, including being tagged with the loss.

Minnesota and Cleveland will wrap up their four game series on Thursday afternoon with first pitch slated for 12:10 p.m. Simeon Woods Richardson will be on the bump while Joey Cantillo counters for the Guardians.

The Twins currently have a 0.5 game lead over the Tigers for the third and final American League Wild Card spot.
