$24 million to be distributed to three North Dakota airports

BISMARCK, ND — The FAA has awarded $24 million to North Dakota to fund improvement projects at three airports in the state.

The money will go to Hector International Airport in Fargo, Bismarck Municipal Airport, and Minot Municipal Airport. It will mostly be used to reconstruct paved taxiways, but some of the money will go toward the expansion of Hector International Airport’s terminal.

There’s no word on when the work will begin.

“North Dakota airports are essential infrastructure for our economy,” said U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) while announcing the awarded dollars. “These funds will help our commercial and municipal airports make needed repairs, improvements, and expansions to ensure efficient operations.”

Over $38 million has been awarded from AIP funding in Fiscal Year 2024 to North Dakota airports.
