Two seriously hurt in Grand Forks area crash

GRAND FORKS – Two people suffered serious injuries when a pickup rear-ended an SUV in Grand Forks County.  It happened on Highway 2 and Airport Road, west of Grand Forks, just after 6:30p.m. Monday.  Troopers say the SUV was stopped at a red light when a pickup driven by Travis Bell, 43, of Fordville rear-ended it. He was not hurt, but was arrested for Criminal Vehicular Injury. The driver of the SUV, a 26-year old woman from Grand Forks Air Force Base, was taken to Altru Hospital to be treated for her injuries.  A 5-year old passenger in her vehicle was airlifted to Fargo to be treated.

The crash remains under investigation.
