(Fargo, ND) — The new Fargo Sports Center at the Sanford Sports Complex celebrated a grand opening Wednesday afternoon.
The grand opening highlights the completion of the first phase, totaling approximately 290,000 square feet.
After the second phase is completed, the facility will invite community members into nearly 400,000 square feet.
“It’s just the overwhelming fact that we are actually here and this is coming to fruition. This is a project that has been in discussion for six years. We finally found the right balance of public (and) private funds to move forward,” said Fark Park Board President Dr. Joe Deutsch.
The $126.6 million complex will be able to host a wide range of indoor sports, in addition to various tournaments and special events.
It’s located at 6100 38th St. S. in Fargo.
The complex will feature amenities including a multi-use indoor turf field, four hardwood courts, cross courts, a championship court and second-floor sky box, several community and meeting rooms, and more.
The complex will officially open to the public June 3rd.
It’s designed by JLG Architects with McGough Construction.
