North Dakota power utility announces plan to build new natural gas-fired power plant

(Fargo, ND) — Basin Electric has revealed a plan to build a new natural gas-fired power plant in North Dakota.

CEO Todd Brickhouse announced the plan while speaking at the Williston Basin Petroleum Conference in Bismarck.

Brickhouse said it would be a 14-hundred megawatt power-generating facility.

That would make it the cooperative’s largest power plant.

Basin Electric hasn’t specified where the plant will built. We’re told it will depend on pipeline negotiations.
