Wild fall to Golden Knights

(St. Paul, MN) — The Minnesota Wild are on the brink of elimination following a 2-1 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights at the Xcel Energy Center on Saturday.

Kirill Kaprizov opened the scoring late in the second period, but Michael Amadio tied the game with under seven minutes left in regulation. The Wild pulled their goalie during overtime, and the Knights were able to score an empty-netter to earn the win. Minnesota forfeited the overtime point because they pulled the goaltender. The Wild are in sixth place in the Central Division with 79 points and a 35-29-9 record.

Minnesota will host the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday.
