(Moorhead, MN) — The Human Rights Commission in Moorhead unanimously approved a ceasefire resolution.
Moorhead’s Human Rights Commission passed a ceasefire resolution in a 5-0 vote Thursday evening. Discussions prior to the vote called for the commission to either support or oppose the current resolution. As the commission announced the passage of the resolution, cheers broke out among the crowd and hugs were exchanged among ceasefire supporters.
The vote occurred hours before Fargo and Moorhead Mayors called for a negotiated settlement in a rare joint proclamation, urging for support of enduring peace in Palestine and Israel Thursday night. Both the Fargo and Moorhead City Commissions have yet to vote on a ceasefire resolution.
