Twins drop three of four games to Tigers

(Minneapolis, MN) — The TIgers scored five runs in the top of the fifth during a 6-4 win over the Twins in Minnesota.

Spencer Torkelson and Kerry Carpenter both homered in the frame, while Andy Ibanez and Miguel Cabrera also drove in a run. Minnesota scored three times in the bottom of the eighth and had the bases loaded with nobody out, but Jason Foley stopped the bleeding and pitched two innings to pick up his third save

Brendan White earned the win in relief as the Tigers took three of four from the Twins. Louie Varland was charged with his third loss after giving up six runs on nine hits in 4 1/3 innings.

Minnesota still holds a 2.5 game lead over Cleveland in the AL Central.
