North Dakota Trooper receives agency’s highest honor

NORTH DAKOTA – The North Dakota Highway Patrol honors a trooper with a service medal.

Jimmy Myers received the Distinguished Service Medal for rescuing a woman from a dangerous situation during a homicide response in Larimore in 2024. A man was shot and the armed gunman was inside a home. The wife rammed a vehicle into the home. Myers drove a squad car to the door, gave cover and got the woman out of the home.

The medal is the agency’s highest honor for heroic action. Myers is only the eighth trooper in Highway Patrol history to receive the service medal.
