Man faces counterfeiting, other charges in Walsh County cases

(GRAFTON, ND) – A man is facing counterfeiting and other charges in Walsh County.

According to court documents, Silvestre Cerna presented a $100 bill to a cashier at a restaurant in Park River. The bill was to pay for two drinks.

The restaurant owner later checked the bill and discovered it was a fake $100 bill, reporting the crime to authorities. Later, Cerna contacted the sheriff’s office to say he would pay the $100 back to the restaurant, but failed to do so.

Counterfeiting is a Class C Felony.

Cerna is also facing several other charges in a different case, along with having a federal parole hold, court officials tell Flag Family Media News.
