Motorcyclist suffers serious injuries in crash, charges pending

(FARGO, ND) – A 20-year-old man who suffered serious injuries is being investigated for charges after colliding with a Chevy Malibu in Fargo.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the crash happened at around 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the intersection of 52nd Avenue South and 31st Street South.

The 2018 Triumph Street Triple, driven by a 20-year-old male, was eastbound on 52nd Avenue approaching the intersection as the Chevy Malibu, driven by a 79-year-old female, was westbound on 52nd Avenue in the left turn lane.

The driver of the Malibu entered the intersection and began turning when the motorcycle also entered the intersection and attempted to steer right before contact occurred.

The driver of the motorcycle was ejected and was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

The driver and passengers of the Chevy Malibu reported minor or no injuries.

Law enforcement say the motorcycle was recorded driving at speeds up to 140 miles per hour earlier in the evening, but law enforcement declined to pursue due to safety reasons.

The crash is under investigation.
