(BISMARCK, ND) – Legislators have passed a bill relating to genders usage within North Dakota Century Code.
House Bill 1181 says state record references to ‘male’ or ‘female’ pertain to the individual’s sex at birth.
Specifically, supporters of the measure want the state to align with federal guidelines.
Back in January, one of President Trump’s first executive orders revolved around establishing a two-gender policy.
No state Senators spoke against the bill during floor debate Thursday afternoon.
The bill was amended in the Senate and will now return to the House.
