(CROOKSTON, MINN) – The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is identifying the officer who discharged his firearm during a use-of-force incident this week near Crookston.
Crookston Police Officer Sean Murphy, a seven-year veteran of the department, has been placed on standard critical incident leave by the department. An investigation shows that, as law enforcement attempted to take the suspect, Caleb Coffey, into custody, he exited his vehicle holding a handgun.
