Driver shot and injured by police during chase in MN

Polk County, M.N. – Authorities say a driver was shot and wounded by law enforcement during a pursuit on Monday morning in Minnesota.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office says the shooting took place just after 10am at the end of the chase along County Road 9 and 350th Avenue SW near Greenview.

The driver, who was the only one in the car, was taken to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks with a non life-threatening injury.

Authorities won’t specifically say what led law enforcement to shoot the driver.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is assisting in the investigation.

Although there’s no risk to the public, the sheriff’s office says drivers should stay away from County Road 9 between 350th and 360th Avenues SW which will be closed much of the day for the investigation.
