FARGO, N.D. – Former executive director of the Fargo Park District Dave Leker is pursuing legal action claiming his ex-employer created a hostile work environment and discriminated against him because of his age.
Court documents say the suit filed on behalf of the 59-year-old seeks restitution for age discrimination, retaliation and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Leker also claims city officials didn’t file any disciplinary actions or notifications before he was placed on a performance improvement plan in late 2022.
Leker served as the park district’s executive director from July 2019 until June 2023 capping off a 22-year career with the city.
