Special election to decide the balance of the Minnesota House

MINNESOTA – A special election being held Tuesday for the Minnesota House district 40B in the Roseville area will decide if Republicans continue to have a majority in the House or if the chamber will be tied.

The race is being held after a judge declared DFLer Curtis Johnson didn’t meet residency requirements.

Republican engineer Paul Wikstrom, who lost the November election to Johnson by 30 points, is up against DFL pro bono specialist David Gottfried.

Right now in the Minnesota House, Republicans hold a 67 to 66 seat majority.

Polls close at 8:00 PM.
